Lahore: The project design for the IT Tower and Convention Centre to be built on 115 kanals of land in the Kot Lakhpat Sabzi Mandi has been prepared, according to a news source. The IT Tower’s design is a replica of Arfa Karim Tower, which has been prepared by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA)’s Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency. Consultation services of the National Engineering Services Pakistan have been requested for the PKR 10 billion project.
The project briefing is yet to be given to the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who has assigned the task for planning and preparing the project’s feasibility report to the LDA Director General Zahid Akhtar Zaman. As soon as the Chief Minister approves the project, development work will formally begin.
The IT Tower will span over 75 kanals, while the convention centre will have an area of 45 kanals. In addition to these two buildings, the project will also have a parking plaza and a sports centre. For this project, the LDA will complete the grey structure with its own funds.
