Jhang: Due to project delays in Jhang, the Punjab Highways Department chief engineer imposed heavy fines on the relevant contractors, according to a news source. Notices were also sent to the project in-charges and senior engineers due to their dissatisfactory monitoring and lapse of funds.
An official order issued by the superintendent engineer of Faisalabad Divison, the construction contract for Shorkot Bypass from 3-Pull Jhang Road to Qazianwala Pul on Garh Maharaja Road was given to a contractor who created significant delays in the project. Multiple warnings were issued in this regard, but when the delays continued, a PKR 2.369 million fine was imposed. If delayed further, an additional fine of PKR 4.738 million would be imposed.
