Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) has hired a consultancy firm to prepare the PC-I for the construction of three residential-cum-commercial plazas in the city, according to a news report published on July 23. The plazas will be developed under the private-public partnership (PPP) mode.

The approval, in this regard, was given during the Punjab Private Public Partnership Authority (PPPA) meeting a few days ago. Sources claim that these plazas will be built in Bani Market, Commercial Market and at the site of the old office of the municipal corporation.
The RMC will supervise the construction of these buildings – which will be developed at a cost of PKR 6.28 billion. Messrs MS Consultant Associates will prepare the PC-I for the three plazas. Once the consultant shares its report, the RMC will invite bids from private partners interesting in financing the project.

In addition to preparing the PC-I, the consultant firm will also share its recommendations on mechanism of profit sharing between the RMC and its private partners, engaged for the construction of these plazas.
