Lahore: The Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA) has shared the progress on the remodelling of Kalma Chowk Underpass stating that the authority has completed over 560 piles up to date, a news source reported on December 6.

PCBDDA Executive Director Technical Riaz Hussain disclosed that the work on the underpass project is ongoing at an expedited pace. It was shared that the authority has completed over 560 piles up to date. The executive director mentioned that the authority is committed to completing the remodelling Kalma Chowk Underpass project within a stipulated time. Also, the authority has expedited the construction work on the parking plaza, and the concrete pouring for retention walls is completed.
Moreover, the executive director requested the commuters to plan according to the traffic advisory issued by the City Traffic Office (CTO) and PCBDDA. A City Traffic officer stated that this project will eradicate several traffic problems. The City Traffic Police (CTP) has deployed plenty of traffic wardens at Kalma Chowk so commuters will not have to face any inconvenience.

The updated traffic advisory revealed that the opposite road of Ali Zaib Road will be closed for 15 to 20 days for traffic coming from Firdous Market to Centre Point. The CTP mentioned that the traffic coming from Barkat Market towards Liberty Market can take a left turn from Kalma Chowk or use a U-turn of Muslim Town Morr to reach Liberty through Qaddafi Stadium. Likewise, the traffic coming from Model Town towards Liberty Market can go straight to Muslim Town Morr and take a U-turn to reach Liberty Market via Qaddafi Stadium. The commuters coming from Firdous Market towards Liberty or Main Boulevard can go through Hussain Chowk.
