Gwadar: In a meeting on Thursday (November 11), progress on development projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was reviewed, according to media reports.

Reportedly, Gwadar Development Authority Director General Shahzeb Kaka, Gwadar Deputy Commissioner (r) Major Abdul Kabir Khan Zarkoon, China Overseas Port Handling Company Chairman Zhang Bao Zong, and Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Chairman Naseer Ahmed Kashani briefed the meeting about the progress of ongoing development schemes under CPEC.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana discussed different issues including electricity and drinking water in Gwadar and surrounding areas. He ordered the authorities concerned to ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity and water in the locale.

Moreover, the chief secretary stated that a fire brigade station should be developed in the region and fire tenders must be acquired for the district. He added that there was a need to introduce reforms in fisheries law according to current requirements. Also, Chief Secretary Rana ordered the provision of the best medical care and directed the health department to improve its performance. He also reviewed the implementation of decisions taken in the previous meeting and ordered relevant authorities to ensure the implementation of these decisions.
