Mianwali: The process to initiate the construction work of the Chapri Dam project in the Isakhel District has been completed, according to a news source published today (August 12). Subsequently, the work order for the initiative is to be issued within the going two years’ timeframe.

This dam will be a source of potable water for over eight union councils in the Khattak belt, catering to a population of over 0.2 million. Deputy Commissioner Mianwali Omer Sher Chatha revealed that Prime Minister Imran Khan had ordered a survey for this project to solve the severe water shortage issues in the area.

Chatha further stated that the project’s paperwork, including the design and pipeline surveys, had already been completed. He also deemed the project as the biggest one undertaken in the district so far, with an estimated cost of PKR 300 million. The Chapri Dam will provide much-needed relief to the residents of the district, and will also create a number of jobs there.
