The PM gave these directives while chairing a meeting focused on the privatisation of various government institutions. He stated that public entities that weren’t performing at their optimal levels should be privatized in order to reduce the burden on the national treasury, and to generate income to boost social and welfare projects.
In addition, PM Khan encouraged the departments concerned to boost inter-ministerial coordination to further facilitate this privatisation process; saying that this initiative was in the country’s best interest.
