The explanation was issued in response to the letter issued by the Prime Minister Office (PMO) dated October 21, that sought the authority’s stance over the privatisation proposal of JCC.
According to sources, CDA stated that it is awaiting the study report regarding availability of water, electricity from a grid, a solid waste management plan, traffic impact study and report on sewage treatment plant (STP) before the release of the JCC allotment letter.

Moreover, CDA also asked the ministry to table the matter before the prime minister or the federal cabinet in case the privatisation commission is unable to submit the report. It further explained that the CDA has not objected to the conversion of JCC from amenity place to commercial place as proposed by the privatisation commission to the Senate Standing Committee on Privatisation. JCC is a public gathering arena located at one end of Constitution Avenue where various programmes are held for the government and private entities.
