Lahore: The Punjab government has directed the Privatisation Board to lease out state land occupied by 150 petrol pumps across the province, a news source reported.
Punjab Minister for Local Government, Law & Parliamentary Affairs Muhammad Basharat Raja recently gave instructions to this effect. He was presiding over a meeting in Lahore on Tuesday.

Provincial Ministers Mian Mehmoodul-Rasheed, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Raja Yasir Hamayun, Muhammad Sibtain Khan, Col (R) Malik Muhammad Anwar, Malik Nauman Ahmad Langrial, Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmad, and other officials concerned were all present at the occasion.

The minister ordered the Privatisation Board to organise an open auction ceremony in order to ensure transparency. He said that the government wanted to generate revenue through the auction process.
The officials concerned gave briefings with respect to the amendments made to the Board of Revenue (BoR) rules. They informed that the authority has leased out over 200,000 acres of its land to farmers.
