Multan: The developers and management of private housing schemes are to arrange for their own garbage disposal as waste management companies in the city have been directed to not work in private housing schemes, reported a news source. The orders were issued by Multan Division Commissioner Imran Sikandar Baloch.
While the private housing schemes collect fees from the residents to dispose garbage, the task is instead carried out by waste management companies operated by the provincial government. Baloch also announced that legal action will be carried out against societies dumping rubble along the roadside.
Furthermore, Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) has been instructed to check water connection issues for private housing schemes and ensure that the water fee is recovered. While presiding a meeting held to discuss progress of development work in the city, Baloch ordered Multan Development Authority to share record of all illegal housing schemes.
He instructed the authority to ensure that all the requirements are thoroughly met before a housing society gets an approval.
