Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has pointed out that most of the housing societies in Islamabad have converted land allocated for civic amenities into commercial and residential plots, according to a news report.
The civic authority presented this report to the Islamabad High Court, which is hearing a case about violation of by-laws by developers of private housing societies in the capital city.
According to this report, in most of the private housing societies, land reserved for graveyards, parks, schools and healthcare facilities has been converted into plots. In the approved maps for these societies, spaces for civic amenities were marked and reserved, but the situation on-ground is different, according to the survey report by CDA.
