Lahore: A private school recently sponsored 1,550 trees of various species for the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) as a gift to honour the department’s effort to enhance flora and fauna of the country, while improving the nationwide ‘Green Pakistan Campaign’, according to news sources.

An event was organised by the school on September 5 at the Lahore Race Course Park, to celebrates its contribution to the Green Pakistan initiative (launched in October 2018) and in deference to the Defence Day celebration. During the occasion, the City School presented PHA with plants of various spices including Arjun, Jaman, Neem, Amaltas and Sukh Chains. The reason behind this noble initiative was to endorse environmental responsibility in the students.

All the students, school management and PHA official expressed hopeful sentiments and reflected on the importance of undertaking initaitives for nature’s conservation.
