Sahiwal: A fast-track payment project is underway to make payments to 970 landowners who sold 1002 acres of land to the government for installation of coal power plants near Chak 76/5-R, claims the District Collector Office.
During the last 15 days, more than 700 landowners have received cash-payment vouchers. The District Collector Dr Sajid Mahmood told a news resource that the acquisition of land was a major step and six districts were specified by the Punjab Government for the installation of power plants. However, the acquired land in Sahiwal was chosen to be the most feasible site for the execution of project.
