Faisalabad: A telecom company has offered to complete the Faisalabad Safe City project at a cost of approximately PKR 3 billion, a news source reported. The Punjab government had initially estimated the cost at PKR 9 billion.

Muhammad Ayan, CEO of Global Link Pvt Ltd, offered his firm’s services to complete this project within a 10-month timeframe. Global Link would utilise the infrastructure provided by PTCL. Moreover, no additional digging and earthworks will be carried out during the process.
The Global Link CEO tabled his proposal during a meeting with Commissioner Faisalabad Division Momin Agha. Former Chief of Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) Sheikh Shahid Aziz was also present at the occasion.

This proposal will be forwarded to the Chief Secretary Punjab for his approval. Under the Safe City initiative, at least 5,000 cameras will be installed in Faisalabad.
