Lahore: The prices of steel products and rebar have increased by PKR 3,000, making the per tonne rate rise to PKR 75,000, according to a news report. It is believed that the devaluation of Pakistan’s currency against the US Dollar has increased the rate of raw materials, causing a spike in locally produce rebar and steel products.
This has also caused the prices of other steel products used in the construction process to go up. These include doors and windows and all other items made of steel. Reportedly, the steel used in the industrial sector is also seeing a surge in prices, which has started to affect the industrial sector with higher rates of sheets and industrial coil and many other products.
