Islamabad: President Dr Arif Alvi on Sunday launched the ‘Mohafiz Application’ to spread awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic, a news source reported.
As per the publication, the President made the announcement during a ceremony at his official residence. Reportedly, the application has been designed by the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, and with an aim to provide important medical information to families in quarantine. Pakistan Red Crescent Chairman Ibrar ul Haq was also present on the occasion and took the opportunity to reveal that his organization was training 5000 workers to combat the novel coronavirus.

In a separate proceeding, Governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar launched the ‘Mohafiz Force’ and the ‘Mohafiz Mobile Application’ at his official residence. He revealed that the purpose behind this move was to fulfil the provincial government’s goal to collect PKR 1 billion for the Corona Relief Funds. He said that the state would ensure that the needy and deserving families got their food rations at their house doors, and further stressed that people should stay at home to save themselves from the coronavirus infection.

Lastly, he added that his administration would ensure the protection of those who were fighting the COVID-19 pandemic on the front lines — individuals like doctors and nurses.
