Rawalpindi: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Naeem ul Haq has ordered for the preparation of the Rawalpindi Master Plan in three months’ time, a news source reported. He was attending a briefing at the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) office.
Haq said that RDA’s governing body will soon be formed. He instructed that the governing body should make a policy decision regarding the sale of RDA’s vacant land. The funds raised can then be used to launch development projects around the city.
He also instructed Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) officials to revise its tariffs to end the financial crunch.
Later, Haq will talk with Chairman WAPDA about removing commercial tariffs from WASA’s tube wells for the same purpose.
In response to the briefing, he said that he will discuss the matter of building plans and revenue collection for DHA in RDA’s limits with the Quartermaster General. In future, however, he cautioned that DHA will have to follow RDA’s by-laws in RDA limits.
