Karachi: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday (August 10) was briefed on the restoration of three major nullahs in Karachi and an anti-encroachment drive along the storm drains, news sources reported.

Lieutenant-General Akhtar, Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), informed the Prime Minister that nullahs in Mahmoodabad, Gujjar, and Orangi districts, Malir and those on Lyari rivers, would be rebuilt. The plan also includes the construction of roads astride these drains, installation of a sewerage system, and relocation of infrastructure for the provision of utilities.
Talking about the anti-encroachment drive along major storm drains the chairman said that the work is still going on and the major portion of the land along the nullahs has been retrieved.
