Kabul: Preliminary work on the Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India (TAPI) gas pipeline project has been completed in Afghanistan, reported a news source. The project was launched in January 2016 and its estimated cost is USD 22.5 billion.
The gas pipeline originates from Tajikistan and it will have 816 kilometre-long lines running in Afghanistan, from where it will head to Pakistan via Quetta and head to Multan and all the way to Fazilka in India. Afghanistan alone will earn USD 400 million annually in terms of corridor duties for the project.
