Rawalpindi: As many as 26 firms have submitted bids for preparing feasibility report of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project, a news source reported.

According to sources, the applicants will be asked to provide financial and technical details of the project. The RRR’s contract is worth over PKR 80 million. The contractor will be asked to create a geometric and structural design for the project, as well as a reset development plan.
The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), which is RRR’s executing agency, will begin the process for land acquisition based on the recommendations of the consultancy firm.

The Punjab government recently allocated funds worth PKR 6 billion for acquiring land for the RRR project. In a similar measure, a sum of PKR 5 million has been set aside for the establishment of a project management unit. If deemed necessary, the provincial government will disburse more funds for the project.
