Rawalpindi: The pre-bidding meeting of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project will take place on April 5, according to a post published on the authority’s official Facebook page on March 17. Representative of bidding construction firms will be attending the session.

The said information was revealed during a review meeting on RRR, held under the chair of Rawalpindi Commissioner Captain (retired) Muhammad Mehmood. The pre-bidding meeting agenda will include the bidding process, construction agreement and related concerns.
The last date for submission of the proposal is April 12 and will not be extended as the government wants to execute the project on an expedited basis to facilitate the masses. It was revealed that a committee will be constituted to review the tender submissions based on all technicalities – in a transparent manner.

Moreover, it was revealed that the revenue staff has been given more targets to ensure fast-track payment to the landowners, whose land has been acquired for the project. As per the latest details, the landowners concerned have been paid PKR 356 million and for the 32-kilometre route, some 6,603 kanals and 17-marlas have been acquired.
The meeting also reported that five no-objection certificates have not yet been issued and the codal formalities for their issuance are underway.
