Lahore: Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has launched the survey of marriage halls and marquees in Lahore in order to register and bring them into tax net – a news source reported on November 10.

Several teams comprising of PRA staff have been formed under the leadership of Commissioner Enforcement Dr Javaid Iqbal. The teams will also visit the marquees and halls to review their records. Both registered and non-registered marriage halls will be targeted for the purpose.
The authority also recently issued notices to non-registered marriage halls, lawns and marquees and in case of non-compliance, further action will also be taken against them. The action will result in heavy fines and properties being sealed.

Both provincial and federal authorities have been making efforts to expand the tax net by spreading awareness and taking direct action against the individuals and companies evading taxation.
