Lahore: The Pakistan Railways — during a meeting held at the Railways Headquarters Lahore on Saturday — finalised a plan for taking over the management of the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club, according to a news source. The decision was taken in light of the recent directives issued by the Supreme Court.

The meeting was chaired by Secretary Railways Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani. The session was briefed that the club had been facing a number of issues previously that had now been resolved. Reportedly, the Railway management committee had earned PKR 380,185,350 from the club, while PKR 339,053,828 had been spent in expenditures and salaries between July 2019 and May 2020. Additionally, the Railways committee had earned a profit of PKR 42,751,522 during this period.

The meeting was further briefed that currently a tendering process was underway to engage an operator and developer to run the club, and to make it compliant with international standards.
