Rawalpindi: Preparations are underway to start the test run for the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project on November 10, a news source reported. As part of the test-run preparations, the Pakistan Railways dispatched 10 coaches to Karachi on Friday (November 6).
The coaches have reportedly been prepared by the Railway Carriage Factory and these come fitted with the ports to charge mobile phones. The modern coaches can accommodate 80 passengers in each coach, while each train will have five coaches. The Railway Carriage Factory is to provide 40 such coaches for the KCR project.

As per the news sources, all 40 coaches will be ready by January 2021. The KCR project is being revived on orders of the Supreme Court in order to provide better public transport facilities to the citizens.
