Islamabad: Pubic Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) has increased the lower financial limit for posting tenders to its website – a news source reported in October.

According to details, the lower financial limit for uploading tenders on PPRA has been increased from PKR 100,000 to PKR 500,000. This was revealed before the Senate Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation in a briefing by PPRA. The parliamentary panel was in a meeting with Senator Khuda Babar. In order to make the change an amendment has been made in the Rule 12 of the Public Procurement Rules, 2014.

Last year, Punjab government had also announced a shift to e-procurement system for three of its departments as a part of a pilot project to curb corruption. The online system makes the entire process of placing orders, quoting rates, filing and winning tenders, submitting bills, and refunding bills transparent.
