Karachi: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has donated PKR 15.5 million for the provision of solar power to 500 homes in Balochistan, according to a news report. Solar panels will be provided to households located in district Awaran.
A two-day hands-on training programme was also conducted for focal persons hailing from Awaran district on January 22 and 23, at a local hotel in Karachi. The attendees were taught how to operate, maintain and repair the panels.

PPL Corporate Services General Manager Furqan Uddin Sheikh distributed certificates among the participants. Sindh Radiant Organization (SRO)’s Chief Executive Officer Ghulam Hussain Khwaja and other officials from both the organisations were also present.
The donation amount covers the purchase and distribution costs of 500 solar power modules. Each module will include 3 LED lamps, a DC fan, and a solar panel.
The modules will be distributed among 24 villages in tehsils Awaran and Mushkai.
