Islamabad: China Power Hub Generation Company’s 1,320 MW coal-powered power plant established under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has now been connected to the national grid, a news source reported. As a result of the connection, the power plant is now receiving back feed of MW from Jamshoro transmission lines.
The first unit of the power plant will be operational with the national grid in December 2018. The power plant is being completed with the investment of USD 2 billion and it is expected to begin commercial operation by August 2019.
