Islamabad: China has offered a cash grant of USD 112.33 million for post-flood reconstruction activities apart from the in-kind support, worth USD 14.06 million, according to news published on December 12.

As per the details, the Chinese government has also provided extra support, which included USD 14.05 million from the Chinese Army, USD 2.39 million to the Embassy of Pakistan in China, USD 17.75 million from the Chinese People’s Association, USD 0.3 million from Red Cross Society of China, and USD 0.067 million from All Pakistani Chinese Enterprises Association.

The news source mentioned that the Chinese government committed to provide grant assistance of USD 42.13 million under the agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation signed on March 30 for post-disaster reconstruction. Likewise, China and Pakistan signed another agreement in November for the provision of the grant, worth USD 70.2 million for post-flood recovery.
