Islamabad: The handover of possession in Park Enclave I has been pushed back by a few months because the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the project contractor are currently disputing over the installation of streetlights in the locality.
A news source stated that although the contractor was allowed to purchase streetlights from approved firms such as Sunlight, Philips, and Luma, some CDA officers allegedly pressurised the contractor to procure streetlights from a firm they recommended. Reportedly, the contractor refused to comply.
Although the civic agency had promised to complete development work in Park Enclave I by 2013, it is just 60% complete right now.
CDA Project Director Mumtaz Hussain told reporters that because of the existing dispute, the project will be completed by April 30, 2016. He added that possession will be granted in May 2016.
