Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed gave a briefing to Federal Ombudsman Syed Tahir Shahbaz and informed him that possession handover of 2,000 apartments under construction in Sector I-15 will start in December this year, according to news sources.
Mr Shahbaz was also informed that the Category-I flats have been completed and Category-II apartments in Islamabad are under construction. Moreover, 70% work on parks and other facilities has also been completed. The CDA chairman also revealed that work in Sectors C-15, E-12 and I-12 is also underway and its possession would also be started soon.

These details were revealed while the ombudsman was chairing an authority meeting of the CDA to review the progress of development projects in Islamabad. During the said meeting, Mr Shahbaz directed the authority to digitise its record by September 30. He also asked the civic agency to build an access road to the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority’s (FGEHA) Bhara Kahu scheme on priority.

CDA Chairman was also instructed to ensure the completion of all codal formalities of the regulations before starting any new project or public/private housing scheme. The chairman informed that meeting that construction has been launched on I.J. Principal Road, Bhara Kahu bypass and Margalla Highway has commenced and work on Rawal Dam Chowk and 7th Avenue interchanges were underway. It was highlighted that PWD interchange is nearing completion.
Additionally, the CDA chairman revealed that unnecessary committees are being abolished to make the authority’s whole system more simple for citizens. TO this effect, a one-window facilitation desk has been established in Sector G-7.
