Islamabad: Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan Paulo Neves Pocinho on Thursday expressed his country’s willingness to help the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) to make the capital city greener, according to a news source. He stated that Portugal was ready to provide all possible support for further enhancing the beauty of the city.

The envoy expressed these remarks while meeting with Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz. Both officials discussed matters of mutual interest and the continuation of friendly relations between the two countries.
Aziz highlighted that Pakistan was emerging as one of the most attractive destinations in the world for tourists. He added that the MCI was committed to developing a greener Islamabad, along with working on its further beautification.

The Islamabad Mayor further informed Ambassador Pocinho that Pakistan attached significance to its relations with Portugal — both in terms of bilateral connections, and within the framework of the European Union (EU). He also presented the ambassador with gifts and souvenirs at the end of their meeting.
