Reportedly, the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme has sunset nationwide on September 15. However, the disbursements for the applicants facing biometric issues and families of the deceased beneficiaries will continue till September 30.
The applicants facing biometric verification can access the new portal (http://complaints.pass.gov.pk/) and submit their grievances in a simple ‘three-step’ process. Complaints can be generated with the federal government by entering the Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number and contact number on the portal. The said portal instantaneously generates a unique reference number for each application submitted and the applicants are contacted by the relevant team via the provided contact number.

Furthermore, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar has stated that the applicants who have submitted their applications via the new portal would soon “receive new disbursement messages – mentioning the date and bank details – from ‘8171 service’ as the process is being expedited nationwide to facilitate easy payments”.
As for the heirs of the deceased beneficiaries, they will have to submit an application, in name of SAPM Dr Nishtar, with the CNIC details of the departed family member, the death certificate (vetted by National Database & Registration Authority – NADRA) and the CNIC of the eligible heir to the nearest Ehsaas office.
