Islamabad: Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Textile Abdul Razak Dawood on Sunday announced that the government was formulating a policy directed at decreasing imports and boosting exports by offering various incentives to the industrial and business community — in order to stabilize the national economy, according to news sources.

He was addressing the final day prize distribution ceremony at the 11th edition of the three-day-long ‘Interiors Pakistan’ international exhibition, organized by the Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) at the Expo Centre in Lahore.

Adviser Dawood lauded the PFC’s efforts in organizing the incredible event and their role in the promotion of local brands. He added that the government was working on both long and short term solutions to strengthen the national economy. He went on to express his hope that the furniture industry of Pakistan had remarkable potential, which (if used properly) could help make the country a prominent exporter of furniture throughout the world.
