Islamabad: The National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (NEECA)’s Board of Directors has approved a national energy conservation policy, stated a news report. The board has agreed to launch a national energy conservation awards scheme and the adoption of codes for clarification of gas and electricity utility companies for operating in industries. This is bound to help in the identification of designated consumers.
While chairing the meeting, Federal Minister for Energy Syed Ali Zafar stressed the importance of efficiency and conservation of energy and directed the department to take all-out efforts to make the department fully operational. He also added that the details of these should be added to PC-1.
