Murree: The Punjab government on Tuesday ordered the authorities concerned to set up police check posts to stop tourists from entering Murree and other tourist spots in the province, a news source reported. The development comes after the provincial government did not issue the notification for lifting the closure on tourist spots.

On the directives of the Punjab government, the authorities concerned have set up police check posts on the entrances to Malka Kohsar and Galiyat. The said measure would help in prevention of tourist entry into the said areas.
On the other hand, the authorities concerned have also set up police check posts on the entryways to 17-mile toll plaza on Pindi-Muree Road, Phulgaran toll plaza on Islamabad-Muree Expressway, Bansra Gali, Sunny Bank, and Jheega Gali. Several other areas have been blocked with police check posts too.

No tourist has permission to enter Murree. However, locals will be allowed to enter after showing their CNICs.
