Lahore: The Punjab Police and Akhuwat Foundation on Wednesday (February 16) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the provision of housing loans to lower-ranking police staff, news sources reported. The said MoU has been signed between Punjab Police and Akhuwat Foundation under the Kamyab Pakistan Programme (KPP).

The Akhuwat Foundation will grant house loans of up to PKR 1.5 million to employees with monthly incomes less than PKR 50,000 as part of the scheme. The programme, according to Inspector General (IG) Police Rao Sardar Ali, would assist get loans for individuals who cannot afford their own homes. Under the scheme, police employees will be able to acquire loans for a term of 15 years. The loan will be repaid in monthly instalments that will be deducted from salaries.

Police officers from all districts will submit loan applications to the Central Police Office’s Welfare Branch. The DIG welfare applications will be delivered to Akhuwat Head Office after they have been reviewed.
