Islamabad: A Polish Oil and Gas Company (POGC) will invest in Pakistan’s oil and gas exploration industry, news sources reported on July 19. The company has been one of Pakistan’s leading gas exploration ventures since 1997.

According to reports, Ambassador of Poland to Pakistan Maciej Pisarski met with Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Musadik Malik, at the Petroleum Division to discuss the investment module and government assistance. The minister stated that the government is committed to assisting the firm in developing oil and gas reserves since it is an essential aspect of the bilateral relationship between Poland and Pakistan. The ambassador stated during the meeting that the country’s investment climate would improve with time and that more businesses would come to Pakistan to explore oil and gas.

It should be noted that Pakistan has recently discovered massive amounts of gas and oil in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Given the changing energy scenario, Pakistan also intends to develop strategic underground gas reserves.
