Karachi: Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) recently announced it had discovered several hydrocarbon reserves in the Makori Deep-02 Well, according to a news source. This well is located in TAL Block, which is in Kohat Plateau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This well has been drilled and is currently in the test phase.
As per the officials, the Drill Stem Test (DST) to check the potential for Lockhart formation revealed the well could produce 1,844 barrels of oil per day and 18.25 MMscF of gas per day at 32/64 inch fixed coke size at the following wellhead pressure of 3,767 psi. However, it must be noted that DST measurements are approximations, and the actual amounts produced may be quite different.
Production from this well is expected to start from December 2019. POL stated that this discovery was made by MOL Pakistan, which is involved in a multitude of exploration and production activities. POL’s pre-commerciality working interest in this project will be 25%.
