Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan was informed that the Project Management Unit (PMU) is being set up for the execution of the Gandhara Valley City project, according to news sources.

A high-level meeting was chaired by CM Khan, in which the attendees were informed about different aspects of the mega project. During the meeting, it was disclosed that the master plan of the Gandhara City project will be prepared within six months and work on the project will start after that. It was also reported that the recruitment process for the project manager will also start soon.
As per the details shared, the meeting was informed that the land acquisition for the Gandhara city project was advertised under the land-sharing formula and a consultant was also hired for the master planning of the scheme. Sharing more details about the Gandhara city project, it was highlighted that the proposed project is being developed on over 100,000 kanals of land located at the junction of Nowshera and Peshawar. The project will consist of all state-of-the-art civic facilities including recreational, medical, educational, and commercial.

Moreover, the proposed city will comprise a Media Enclave spanning 1,132 kanals of land for journalists of Peshawar. It was also decided to issue provisional allotment letters of plots to journalists of Peshawar Press Club. A committee was formed to devise a mechanism for allotment of letters consisting of the President of Peshawar Press Club and other authorities concerned.
Giving details about the categories of plots in Gandhara Valley City, the attendees were informed that Peshawar Development Authority’s board has approved a formula under which:
- 2% of the residential area would comprise four-kanal plots
- 4% will consist of two-kanal plots
- 16% of five-marla plots
- 17% of seven marla plots
