Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Limited (PTCL) and the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) — along with several other local organizations — recently made donations to the Prime Minister (PM)’s Relief Fund for COVID-19, a news source reported.

As per the publication, PTCL donated PKR 100 million to the said relief fund to support the government in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. PTCL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President Rashid Khan presented the donation in the form a cheque to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.

The UAF also contributed PKR 5.133 million to the PM’s Relief Fund and the cheque was presented by UAF Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr. Muhammad Ashraf to Punjab Governor Muhammad Sarwar on Tuesday. The VC also took the opportunity to inform the governor that the agriculture university had established a food fund for needy families on its campus in order to help unemployed individuals during this moment of crisis.

In a separate proceeding, the Pakistan Army disbursed 350,000 ration packages among people living in areas impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The packages included food items and various other daily use products.
