Islamabad: Senator Faisal Javed Khan on Thursday stated that PM’s Corona Relief Fund had received PKR 1.49 billion in donations during the last 15 days, a news source reported. The facility was recently established to gather funds and donations in order to provide relief to the masses amid the COVID-19 spread.

He further stated that the premier had appealed to Pakistan’s global creditors, such as International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank (WB), and G-20 nations, to provide debt relief measures to developing countries fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

The senator said that the government was committed to making all necessary efforts to provide relief to the general public. He also asked the public to observe precautionary measures and collaborate with the government.

Previously, PM Imran Khan Minister had announced that the corona relief fund would be established to gather donations and funds. Overseas Pakistanis have also participated in the charity campaign and have so far contributed PKR 45 million to PM’s Corona Relief Fund.
