Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Saturday inaugurated a web portal facility to assist individuals rendered jobless due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown situation, a news source reported.

The web portal would enlist all those individuals who lost their jobs recently and they will be assisted through the second phase of the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme.
PM Imran said that the citizens concerned should visit the website, register themselves for cash relief, and provide evidence of the organisation they worked for before losing the job. He said that people could register themselves on ehsaaslabour.nadra.gov.pk website and would receive PKR 12,000 after their credentials had been checked and approved for the relief.

On the occasion, he reiterated that the government could not implement an extended lockdown, given that it impacted daily wagers and labourers. PM said that the government aimed to relieve the common people amid the crisis. He said that oil prices were slashed, which would also result in the reduction of the prices of other products. He said that with more industries functioning, more employment and livelihood opportunities would be generated.
