This announcement came ahead of the first anniversary of India’s decision to revoke IOK’s semi-autonomous status. The PM addressed the nation alongside Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and said the new map ‘is now Pakistan’s official map and is approved by the federal cabinet’.
The new map highlights IOK as a disputed region and states that the final decision in this regard will be taken as per the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
