Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Mahmood Murtaza on Wednesday revealed that both the Leh Expressway project and the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) launch were scheduled to be held during the ongoing year, according to news sources.

He further added that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan would receive a presentation on the Nullah Leh Expressway project within a few days for making decisions regarding the project’s final developmental model.
The chairman revealed that all the planning and development of the RRR project is complete, and the launching ceremony will be performed by either PM Khan or CM Buzdar in November or December of this year. He said that the Punjab government has released PKR 6.5 billion to RDA for the RRR’s land acquisition.

Moreover, the authority’s chairman also informed that special industrial, medical, recreational, educational, residential and aerotropolis zones would be established alongside the RRR project to decongest the city. Regarding the Leh Expressway, Murtaza expressed hope that the project will resolve the city’s traffic woes.
