Rawalpindi: The authority concerned has prepared the proposals on the Leh Expressway project design; set for being briefed to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, according to a news report shared in a national daily on August 25. Reportedly, Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed will give the briefing.

As per the details, the Government of Punjab has decided that the project will be developed on Private-Public Partnership (PPP) module, where it will only provide funds for land acquisition. The funds required for development of Leh Expressway will be provided by the private partners.
Sources also claim that the provincial government has rejected the proposal to give commercial land along the expressway to a known builder against his services to develop the project.

Moreover, the two proposals currently under consideration are:
- The investors wining the open auction bid for 500 kanals of land along the Soan River will develop the expressway
- The income generated via open auction bid for 80 kanals of commercial land located behind the Liaqat Sports Complex will be used for developing the project
