According to the approved Project Concept-1 (PC-1), the BRT will begin at KESC Powerhouse Chowrangi in Surjani Town and end at Merewether Tower after passing through Nagan Chowrangi, North Nazimabad, Nazimabad, and Gurumandir, with 21 stations along the route to serve 300,000 passengers daily. The bus route will be 23 kilometres long with an 11-kilometre elevated lane.
It is worth noting that the project was launched in 2016, but was delayed for 5 years, which increased the project’s cost from PKR 16.85 billion to PKR 35 billion. Previously, Minister Umar stated that – after the official inauguration – the commercial launch of the project will be held on December 25.
