Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has taken notice of the alleged inaction of the government departments concerned against resolving the complaints registered on the executive’s ‘Pakistan Citizen Portal’ facility, a news source reported. The government, under the direct insistence of the premier, had launched the said application in 2018 to address the problems faced by the general public.
According to the PM Office, the prime minister observed that several of the complaints lodged had been discarded without proper response, investigation or evidence documentation. Further, the executive reported on unnecessary delays in the completion of the redressal mechanism.

The PM recently directed the ministries and provincial bodies concerned to constitute five-member committees in order to evaluate the performance of the officials tasked with addressing complaints lodged on the Citizen Portal, and submit their reports in 30 days.
The committee will be headed by Grade-20 officers or a joint secretary. It will identify any misconducts in resolved and pending complaints. Both good and bad performances will be highlighted.
