Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday (November 8) ordered Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) Chairman Amer Ahmed Hashmi to establish Special Technology Zones (STZ) in all the major cities across the country, according to news sources.

As per the details, the chairman briefed the PM about the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Expo 2020 Dubai, the progress on STZs, and the interest of both international and national firms to invest in Pakistan. Also, PM Khan was informed about the investment pipeline developed through Pakistan Tech Summit in Istanbul and Expo 2020 Dubai.
Moreover, Chairman Hashmi stated that through STZA’s efforts, several small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), anchor tenants, venture capital fund managers, startups, and universities have expressed interest in investing in the tech zones.

It is pertinent to mention that the parliament has already passed the act of STZA, and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allotted land for developing the first-ever STZ in Islamabad.
