Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has directed the authorities concerned to simplify laws to enhance private sector’s participation in development projects, a news source reported. The PM said that private sector’s participation was significant because the government had limited resources to execute the uplift projects.

Chairing a meeting regarding expediting the economic progress and initiating uplift schemes with public-private partnership, PM Khan indicated that there were various sectors where facilitating the private sector could expedite the development projects. He added that the government should simplify the existing laws and implement its ease-of-doing-business initiative.
Discussing various policies and existing procedure for initiating development projects with the help of private sector, the PM directed the ministers concerned to identify such projects in their respective department where private sector’s facilitation could promote initiation of uplift projects with less financial resources.

He also stressed on coordination among various ministries and federal and provincial departments to ensure the uninterrupted execution of development projects.
