Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday announced that his government had launched 36 social welfare projects countrywide, a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting in Islamabad. During the session, the heads of the government departments concerned gave briefings on the projects assigned to them by the premier.
Special Assistant to the PM on Media Firdous Ashiq Awan, Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chief Sania Nishtar, Finance Secretary Younus Dhaga, as well as the heads of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), Bank of Punjab (BoP), and the Bank of Khyber (BoK) attended the meeting.

The PM directed the officials concerned to take measures aimed at highlighting the country’s tourism potential, introducing the local government (LG) system, economic improvement, and the provision of better facilities for businessmen. He remarked that people should be given updates regarding the welfare projects on a regular basis.
